Ms. Rebecca Sue Howard (Becky), age 53, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Pineville, Kentucky, on Monday, March 23, 2026. She was the daughter of Henry Clay Howard Sr., and the late Lola Howard. Becky was the youngest of six children. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to a host of loved ones who are devastated by her passing.
Becky graduated from Pineville High School and Union College. She later earned her cosmetology license and worked for several years as a beautician in the area, before eventually opening her own salon in downtown Pineville. In more recent years, she stayed at home to help take care of her aging parents. She made sure that her father was in the best health possible, attended his medical appointments, and facilitated his ability to live a comfortable and fulfilling life in his own home. In addition to being a joyful presence, Becky even read the Bible daily to him as he struggled with declining vision.
Becky poured love and joy into the lives of those around her. She enjoyed spending quality time with her siblings whenever possible as well as her many nieces and nephews. Becky always brought joy and laughter to family events. If she told you a story, you would double over with laughter. She was the funniest person in every room and the best performer to pick up a karaoke microphone that anyone ever saw. She loved animals and always managed to find room for a stray cat or two in need of a loving home.
Becky was a devout Christian and long-time member of First Baptist Church in Pineville, where she regularly attended with her father and with her other family members whenever they could join her. She welcomed strangers and was loving and generous with all around her. She was everyone’s biggest supporter through both good and difficult times alike.
Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Lola Howard, and brother Henry Clay Howard, Jr.
Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are her father, Hency C. Howard, Sr., of Pineville; brother, James Robert Howard (Melissa) of Pineville; sister, Jill H. Reams (Steve) of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, John David Howard of Pineville; and brother, Douglas Ray Howard (Brandi) of Pineville. In addition, Becky was greatly loved by her many nieces and nephews, Megan Meyers (Steve) of Corbin, Bridgett Chowning (Luke) of London, Sarah, Jake, and Abigail Reams of Atlanta, Georgia, Anna (Lawrence), Laurel, and Rachel Howard of Pineville, Grace and Lola Howard of Bledsoe, Lorna and Savannah Howard of Pineville, and John Bailey of Lexington. Becky also leaves behind a great nephew, Luke, and two great-nieces, Maggie and Lila. Becky will also be missed by a host of friends and relatives who she cherished throughout life including a very special friend of many decades, Robbie Valentine of Pineville.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Pineville with Rev. Ron Howard presiding. Music will be provided by Rebecca and Paul Long. Burial will follow at the Pineville Memorial Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
