Bill Ray ?B.R.? Mead, 62 of Kettle Island passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on February 7, 1947 in Seymore, Indiana the son of the late Paul and Sue Ayers Mead. Bill was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church, Bell Masonic Lodge #691, Shriner?s, a Kentucky Colonel, and was a life member of the Lions Club. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the United States Air Force, had retired as a Water/Waste Water Plant Superintendant for Edinburgh, Indiana and had been a bailiff for the Bell County Sheriff?s Department. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Jana Howard Mead of Kettle Island; son, Billy Ray Mead of Columbus, Ind.; step-children, Debbie and Mike Parson, Darrell and Barbara Saylor, Darlene and Scott Salick and David and Gena Saylor all of Indiana; twin brother, Bobby Mead, one uncle, two aunts and a niece, Jody; 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
