Phyllis Irene Downey

Phyllis Ralston Hoskins Downey, 76, of Pineville departed this life on April 10th, 2015 in Middlesboro, KY. Born on December 28, 1938, she was a daughter of the late George Thurston Ralston and June Phipps Ralston Conatser. She accepted Christ as a young teenager while attending the First Baptist Church of Pineville. Preceding her in death are her brother, Bobby Frank Ralston, her husbands, Marcus Stone Hoskins and George C Downey, her step-father, Clarence Conatser, and many other beloved relatives and dear friends. She was well-travelled and worked a variety of jobs in Pineville, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Lexington, and Orlando and was appreciated by all for her friendly nature, quick smile, and zest for life. Now, she is happily walking with her Lord and Savior and is free from the doleful restrictions of this world. Survivors include her daughter, Connie Hoskins and brother, Bill and wife Marie Miracle Ralston of Cincinnati. Aunts, Quin and husband James 'Smitty' Smith of Pineville, and Ann Ellardy Phipps of Brandon, FL, also survive her. Especially loved and appreciated are cousins, Mike Hoskins and family of Pineville and David & Ellen Phipps of Dayton, OH, along with special friend, Rickey Madon Browning of Rockledge, FL. Dear to her are step-daughters and their families, Suzan and husband, Rick Woosley of Stamping Ground, KY, Jill and husband, Byron Braamse of Kansas City, MO, and Jean Downey & Dionne Smith of Lexington. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 1:PM at Smith Cemetery on Clear Creek with the Rev Wm Terrell Gibson of Moss Chapel Baptist Church presiding.
