Perry D. Cook, also known as C.J. and Clayton James Harte, age 66, of Middlesboro, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his home. He was born in Waynesville, NC, on January 7, 1947 a son of the late Lloyd and Ellen Dillard Cook, and grew up in Oakridge, OR. He had worked as an editor and reporter for both the Pineville Sun and the Middlesboro Daily News, had been a radio announcer for stations in Oregon and Kentucky and had been a church pastor. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Middlesboro, attended Just Family Day Care, was a member of the Pineville Rotary Club and had volunteered his time as an EMT. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lola Brock Cook. Survivors include his children, Marce Jefferson and husband Tin of Lacey, WA and Gary Brock and wife Brittany of Speedwell, TN; sisters, Sue McMahan and husband Dennis of Eugene, OR and Theresa Cook of Kenneurick, WA; grandchildren, Emelia, Shelby and Josef Jefferson and Sully Brock; his caring and supportive family from Trinity Baptist and Just Family adult Daycare as well as a host of other family and friends.
