Peggy Lee Wagner Messer

Peggy Lee Wagner Messer, 85, a lifelong resident of Arjay, KY gained her heavenly wings on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at her home. She was born on March 16, 1939, in Rella to the late Roosevelt and Ollie Sizemore Wagner. Peggy had been a homemaker, a loving wife of 52 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a great-great grandmother. She believed in the Holiness Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Messer and siblings, brothers, I.J. Wagner, Leonard Wagner; sister, Easter Doolin; son-in-law, Stacy Saylor; and daughter-in-law, Scottie Lynn Messer.

Left to Mourn her passing are the following members of her family. Children, Wanda Saylor of Arjay, KY, Bobby Messer and Christine Golden of Girdler, James Messer of Arjay, KY, David and wife Carolyn Messer of Stoney Fork, KY, Ricky and wife Bobbie Messer of Arjay, KY, Fayetta and husband, Rick Fuson of Ingram, and Kathy Messer and Rex Lashure of Ingram, KY; grandchildren, Bobby Lynn Messer of Ewing, VA, Joey and Christy Saylor of Arjay, KY, Tracy and Israel Lefevers of Barbourville, KY, Aaron and Lela Messer of Stoney Fork, KY, Madison Leeann York and Ashton Griffith of Hindman, Jacob Messer of Arjay, KY’ nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and five step-grandchildren; brother Dennis Wagner and wife, Marsha of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Lucille Messer of Arjay, KY and Millie and husband, J.D. Doolin of Richmond, IN and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, August1, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Polly and Rev. Wilkie Saylor presiding. Music will be provided by Theda Polly, Shannon Broughton and Tara Saylor. Burial will follow at the Messer’s Family Cemetery in Simms Fork, KY. Pallbearers will be Bobby Lynn Messer, Joey Saylor, Aaron Messer, Jacob Messer, Rick Fuson, Rex Lashure, Ashton Griffith, Damian Messer, Caleb Lefevers, Devin Messer, Cody Lefevers, Dalton Messer, Ian Saylor and Hayden Craig.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Messer Family.
