Pauline Stewart

Pauline Evans Stewart, 78 of Pineville, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Baptist Health in Corbin. She was born in Coalgood, Kentucky on February 1, 1944, a daughter of the late Elam Lee and Mary Liz Goodin Evans. Pauline was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church in Girdler and had been an Admissions Clerk at the Pineville Community Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William James Evans, Elam Lee Evans, Jr., and Dewitt C. Evans.

Pauline is survived by her husband of 58 years, James “Tommy” Stewart; daughter, DeJuana Stewart York and husband, Dewayne; grandchildren, Keishia and John Sizemore, and Clayton and Chelsea York; great-grandchildren, Gavin Carter, Mason York, Trinity Powers, Abel York, Brylee York, Nathan Powers, Sierra Sizemore, and Isabella Sizemore; brothers, Shelt and Pearl Evans and Garfield Evans; sisters, Zella Maiden, Sudie Baird, and Adoline and Clay Nantz; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. David Barnard and Rev. Mike Raines presiding. Music will be provided by the Raines and Thompson Family’s. Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Kelly Partin Cemetery in Chenoa with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
