Pauline "Quin" Ralston Smith

Pauline Quin Ralston Smith, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on June 19, 2019. She was born in Pineville on November 12, 1932 a daughter of the late Jim and Lillie Mae Ralston. Quin married the love of her life, James "Smitty" Smith and was preceded in death by him. Quin was a graduate of Pineville High School in the class of 1951, her love for the Mountain Lions did not end there. She was a staunch supporter and loyal fan, who could always be found in the stands cheering on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Quin worked at the FloCoe in her early years, but her greatest pleasure was being a dedicated mother and homemaker. Quin was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her friends and family, you would always feel loved and welcome in her home. Saved at an early age, Quin had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of West Pineville Baptist Church. Quin loved spending time with her family and friends and will always hold a cherished place in the heart of all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and brothers, Ray, Sawyer, John, Charlie, Harold and Thurston and sister, Magdaline. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Debby and Gary Goodin and Thurston and Kathy North; grandchildren, Jamie Goodin and wife, Mary Charles, Stephanie Jackson and husband, David, Sabrina North and Courtney North; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Lawson and husband, Aaron, Tori and Shelby Goodin, Mackenzie Bowles and Sean Bennett Pursifull; special nephew, Chris Partin; special family, Allie and Ben Tigue, Jacob and Jamie Roan and Lindsey Roan Ross; special friends, Kate Hendrickson, Raymond Woods and Pat Bingham. A Celebration of Quin's life will be on Friday at 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Smith Family.
