Pauline Baker

Pauline Brock Baker, age 89, of Barbourville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, May 23rd, 2021 at the Mountain View Nursing Home. She was born in Pineville, Kentucky on April 16, 1932 to Hestle and Lily Brock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hestle and Lily Brock; her husband, Virgil Baker, to whom she was married until his passing (65 years); her brothers, Robert Brock, Melvin Brock, and Millard Brock; her sisters, Christine (Creed) Cornelius, Martha (Will) Brock, Vada (Tom) Mullins. She is survived by her children, Stevie (Lisa) Baker of Ewing, Virginia and Gerald (Betty) Baker of Barbourville, Kentucky; her four grandchildren, Daryl (Susie) Baker of Lexington, Kentucky, Darla (David) Carrol of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Isaac Baker of Barbourville, Kentucky, and Ben Baker of Louisville, Kentucky; her five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Gaston) Rose of Danville, Kentucky and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a devoted Pentecost and family matriarch. She modeled her mother Lily in respect to family heritage, traditions, devotions, and worship. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She cherished all the time spent with her family. She loved crocheting, quilting, and cooking for her family every Sunday and could never cook enough fried apple pies. She loved watching UK Basketball & Football. She was and will continue to be nothing short of an inspiration and will be missed greatly. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 with a funeral service to follow. She will be laid to rest at the Brock-Burnett Cemetery on Brock Hill in Pineville, Kentucky following the funeral. Services will be officiated by Rev. Daryl Baker and Rev. Gary Cornelius. Singers will be Gerald Baker, Lisa Messer, and Angie Saylor. Pallbearers will be members of the family.
