Patricia Ann Asher

Patricia Ann Smith Asher, 63, of Arjay, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at her home. She was born in Arjay on March 11, 1950, a daughter of the late Ford and Amanda Jones Smith. She was of the Baptist faith and had been a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Angela Kay Goodin, Nancy Elizabeth Slusher, great-granddaughter Nevaeh Mosley. Survivors include her husband, Odell Asher; son, Kenny and Angela Asher; son-in-law, Jimmy Goodin; grandchildren, Dustin and Ashley Goodin, Cody Goodin, Kaylyn Goodin, Susan and Dustin Johnson, Amber Slusher, Kenny Shawn Asher and Charity Asher; great-grandchildren, Trenton Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Jax Daniels Goodin and Leah Goodin; sister-in-law, Irene and Charles Smith; Aunt and Uncles, Mildred and Lee Thompson, Pearl Wilson and Jim Jones; Special friends, June Laws, Regina Messer and Teresa Baker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends. Services will be on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Polly and Rev. Wilkie Saylor. Music will be by Theda Polly and family and Joe Laws. Burial will be at Asher Family Cemetery, Arjay. Pallbearers will be Dustin Goodin, Cody Goodin, Jimmy Goodin, Joshua Mosley, Dustin Johnson, Charles Smith, Johnny Howser and Lee Thompson. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. T.V. Hays. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Asher Family.
