Parrott John Partin

November 8, 1934 — July 30, 2016

Parrott John Partin, 81, of Pineville, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Pineville Community Hospital. Born on November 8, 1934 on Clear Creek in Bell County, he was the son of the late John Partin and Verna Fuson Partin. He believed in the Baptist Faith and was a veteran of the US Army. Parrott was a retired Forest Ranger who truly cherished his 37 years with the Kentucky Division of Forestry. He fondly remembered not only his co-workers but all of the people he met during those years working throughout his beloved mountains in the State of Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, John Parrott and Roscoe Douglas Partin; brothers, Edward Fuson and Fred Toy Partin; sisters, Verda Luiadono, Beulah Wagner, Edith Russell and Nannie Bulzar. He is survived by his dear wife of 53 years, Ruth Modeana Baker Partin; daughter, Jane and husband, Scott Hoskins; granddaughter, Ashley and husband, Cody Hoskins; great-granddaughters, Hadley and Braylee Hoskins; brothers, Luther Partin and James Partin and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Hunter and Rev. Wm. Terrell Gibson. Burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery at Clear Creek with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his dear friend, Jim Winter and former co-workers with the Kentucky Division of Forestry. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Partin Family.
