Pamela Lee Russell Thompson

Pamela Lee Russell Thompson, 76, of Pineville, Ky. passed away on March 11, 2025. Pamela, the daughter of the late Ralph Gene Russell and late Trudy Russell Parrott, was born in Georgetown, Ky on May 1, 1948. She was a 1966 graduate of Lone Jack High School and graduated from Morehead State University in 1970. Pamela worked as the school librarian for one year at Pineville High School; she then worked as the school librarian at her beloved Lone Jack until its closing in 1984. Pamela was the librarian at Bell County High School until her retirement in 1997. During her retirement Pamela was constantly involved in her community. She was the President of the Bell County Retired Teachers. The Pineville/Bell County Public Library held a special place in her heart. She was the President for many years.

Pamela is survived by her loving husband, David Thompson, of 54 years, her daughter, Melissa (James) Howard, and her son, Russell (Erin) Thompson. Her grandchildren include Anna (Lawrence) Howard, Elijah (Abby) Thompson, Laurel Howard, Sawyer Thompson, Rachel Howard, and Kyson Thompson as well as one great granddaughter, Lila James Simpson and special aunt, Evylene Goodin.

Pamela was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed; she was always on the sidelines supporting her grandchildren in all their activities. Her spirit and love of the Lord is a testament to her character, a true godly mother.

The celebration of life for Pamela will be on Friday, March 14, 2025, at East Jellico Baptist Church. The visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, with the funeral starting at 3:00 PM. The burial will be at the Mills Cemetery at Tinsley, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers will be Elijah Thompson, Sawyer Thompson, Kyson Thompson, Travis Thompson, Brett Thompson, James Howard, Lawrence Simpson and James David Strange.
