Ovelene Whitaker

Ovelene Miracle Whitaker, 91, of Pineville, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2017 at Physician's Regional Hospital, Knoxville, TN. She was born in Page Cut Off on April 30, 1926, a daughter of the late Millard Daniel and Vestena Stuart Robbins. She had worked as a 'Rosie the Riveter' during World War II and at Laurel Cove Restaurant in Pineville for many years as a cook. Ovelene was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Ralph Miracle (1976) and Elmer V. Whitaker (1993); two sons, Jimmy Wayne Miracle and Dennis Ralph Miracle; sisters, Ethel Hurley, Cleo Peace, Helen Smith and Irene Robbins. Survivors include her children, Anthony Miracle and wife, Kimberly, John Daniel 'JD' Miracle and Brenda Bryant and husband, Frank; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Danny Robbins and sister, Della Mason and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Friday at 12 Noon at Hurst Cemetery. Burial will follow the service. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 AM- 12 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the family of Ovelene Miracle Whitaker.
