"Oat" Otis William Smith "Smitty" age 90 of Thorn Hill passed away July 11, 2007. He served his country in The Army in WW II and in The Civilian Conservation Corps. He was of the Baptist Faith. Preceded in death by parents; Jess & Geneva Beeler Smith, son; Freddie Smith, brothers; Roy Smith, Lloyd "Smokey" Smith, Vernie Brooks and Roger Brooks, sisters; Rachel Smith and Beulah Sanders.

Survivors include:

sons: William J. Smith of Ohio and Robert E. Smith of Bean Station.

daughter: Darlene Smith of Bean Station.

brothers: Lawrence, Ed, Ted, Dale, Jerry, Tommy, and Jimmy Smith and Bill "Roundhead" Wolfe

sisters: Shirley Greene, Marthie Short, Betty Fultz, Tricia, Wilma, Sharon and Tootsie Smith, & Aldi Lovin

2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.

Very special family members: Roy, Jessica, Colby, Madison, Jason, Linda, Lucas, Joele, Asia, Dariane, Dustin, Kim, Kade, Kenzie, Michael, The whole Ellison family and everyone that was involved in his life. He was the "caretaker" of his family.

Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, July 14 at Reece Funeral Home & Valley Chapel with Rev. Terry King officiating. Music by Cleva Fish & Gladys Evans. Burial in The Wilson Cemetery with Full Military honors provided by The Veterans United Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Jason, Roy & Dustin Smith, Dustin, Michael & Henry Ellison.
