Otis Fuson

Otis 'Pete' Fuson, 92, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 with his family by his side. Born March 26, 1923 in Pineville, KY, he was the son of Bill Lee and Emily Ella Miracle Fuson. A WWII veteran, Otis served in the South Pacific 1941-1945 with the US Army. He married Edna (Partin) Fuson, on November 21, 1946 and they moved to Ohio where he began working in construction during the housing boom of the early 1950's. He retired from National Homes Construction Company in 1994. Otis was a 77 year member of Fuson Chapel Baptist Church, was a Kentucky Colonel, enjoyed church homecomings and family reunions. He loved music, played the guitar and mandolin and picked bluegrass every Thursday afternoon with buddies, Dick Hudgel, Dick Jordan, John Neatherton, Dale Stroud, Dan Williams and L.D. King. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna, a sister, Wanda, 2 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers- in -law and 5 nephews. He is survived by 3 daughters, Ann (Kerry) Kennedy of Virginia Beach; Lynn (Ronnie) Coates of Xenia and Pam (Mitch) Edwards of New Tazewell, TN; grandchildren, Soames, Lisa, Laura, Jill, Shayne and their families; a sister, Opal Newport, nieces, Donna Herrman, Rita Frost, Rhonda Whitacre; a nephew, Rich Newport; sisters-in-law, Lola Ellison, Bess Neal and their families. Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at the Fuson Chapel Baptist Church on Little Creek with Rev. Denny Gene Hunter. Burial will be in the Fuson Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Quinton Baldwin, Ethan Deaton, Mitchell Edwards, Todd Ellison, Kerry Kennedy, Billy Miracle, Danny Miracle, Shayne Newsome, Soames Newsome and Scott Sharp. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Fuson Family.
