Ora Jones Maiden

Ora Jones Maiden, 86, of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Lexington. She was born in Pineville on November 28, 1928, a daughter of the late Carlo and Allie Smallwood Jones. She was a member of The Church of God at Dorton Branch and had worked in housekeeping at Pineville Hospital, and also privately. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Maiden and her brothers and sisters; Eva Philpot, Alice Clark, Magdalene Cornett, Eller Hubbard, Slusher Jones, Wesley Jones, Pearl Jones and Floyd Jones. Survivors include her son, Reed Maiden and wife, Teresa of Pineville and daughter Mary J. Ellis and husband, Garland of Harrogate; grandchildren, Amy and Jordan Blankenship, Racheal Maiden, Pam and Eddie Vanhuss, Renee and Gary Keith, Freddie and Beverly Ellis and Don and Tammy Ellis; special friend, like a daughter, Brenda Rutherford; great -grandchildren, Addison Vanhuss, Kaitlyn Keith, Kirsten Keith, Kamryn Keith, Robert Keith, Tiffany Ellis, Colton Ellis, Garland Ellis, Bryson Ellis and Candis Hill; great-great-grandchildren, Tanner and Tye;; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Griffin, Rev. Arthur Jackson, Rev. Charles Mosley, Rev. Bobby Grubbs and Rev. James Ward. Music by Friends and Family. Burial will be in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Taylor, Freddie Ellis, Jordan Blankenship, Don Ellis, Garland Ellis, Bryson Ellis, Ken Ellis, Eddie Vanhuss and Gary Keith. Honorary pallbearers will Garland Ellis, Sr., Robert Keith, George Simpson, John McCoy and Clarence Rutherford. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Maiden Family.
