Opal Warren Taylor Smith, 74, of Straight Creek, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born in Alex Creek, Knox County, KY on February 7, 1934 a daughter of the late Martha Jane Gambrel Warren Mills and Frank Warren. She was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Church on 25 E North and had worked in housekeeping at the Pineville Community Hospital for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Taylor and Floyd Smith; step-father, Bige Mills; children, Rudy Taylor, Bobby Taylor, Ronald Taylor and Connie Garland; grandson, George Darrin Taylor; brothers, Fred Warren, Rice Warren, Walter Warren and special little brother, R.E. Warren; sisters, Bertha Christopher and Beulah Warren; brother-in-law, John Henry Warren and sisters-in-law, Pauline Baker Warren and Lily Warren. Survivors include her children, Dorothy Emery and husband, Steve of Dorton Branch, Kaye Emery and husband, Jerry of Dorton Branch, Harold Taylor and wife, Bonnie of St. Creek, Kathy Elliott of Pineville, and Freddie Taylor of St. Creek; step-sons, Gilbert Smith of Louisville and Edward Smith of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Tina Lambdin, Gary Taylor, George Emery, Lisa Helton, Amy Smith, Kevin Emery, Eric Emery, Christy Brock, Janie Taylor, Alicia Taylor and Kayla Smith; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Lambdin, Cody Smith, Logan Smith, Will Emery, Jasmine Emery and Lance Smith; twelve step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Hazel Warren, niece, Irene Warren Mills; several special and dear lifelong friends and her extended family at Trinity Pentecostal Church and a host of friends and family.
