Opal Mae Brock, 84, of Laurel Hill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Opal was born in Pineville, Kentucky on April 7, 1938, the daughter of the late Leonard Osborne and Rutha Jane (Jackson) Osborne. She was a cafeteria worker at Bell County High School for nearly 30 years until her retirement and was a faithful member of Brownies Creek Primitive Baptist Church for nearly 50 years. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Brock, also of Pineville, Kentucky. Together they had and raised 6 children: Shelia (and Lloyd) Hurley, the late Donny (and Betty) Brock, Dean (and Angie) Brock, Kathy (and Wayne) Hampton, Doug (and Patsy) Brock, and Melissa Hunley. Grandchildren: Christopher Hurley, Jonathan Hurley, Tiffany (Brock) Saylor, Trina (Brock) Woodcock, Tabatha (Brock) Schultz, Amanda Brock, Melinda (Brock) Lake, Miranda Brock, Carrie (Hampton) North, Samantha (Hampton) Adams, Joshua Brock, Brittany Brock, Caleb Hunley, Jacob Hunley, and Canaan Hunley. She also has a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends. She was very much loved by her family and community and will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 18, 2002, at the Brownies Creek Primitive Baptist Church conducted by Elder John E. Robbins and Elder John Wiley Robbins. Burial will be directly following the funeral in the Brownies Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Christopher Hurley, Jonathan Hurley, Joshua Brock, Caleb Hunley, Jacob Hunley, Canaan Hunley and Tyler Abner. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, April 17, 2002, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Brock Family.
