Norman Lyle Cornelius

May 18, 1960 — April 6, 2015

Norman Lyle Cornelius, 54 of Pineville made it to his heavenly home on Monday, April 6, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born in Pineville on May 18, 1960 a son of Christine Brock Cornelius and the late Creed Cornelius. Norman was a member of Community Harvest Tabernacle and had worked at Bell-Whitley Community Action Agency for many years where he had been the Housing Director. He had served as the Chairperson for the Housing Policy Advisory Committee and worked with Repair Affair which completed housing projects for the elderly and families in need. Norman was also a proud shareholder of the Green Bay Packers. Survivors include his wife, Deloris Wilder Cornelius; daughters and their husbands, Natasha and Brian Good and Matti and Justin Daniels; mother, Christine Brock Cornelius; brothers and their wives, Gary and Debbie Cornelius and Russell and Sylvia Cornelius; nieces and nephews, Christie Willis, Brandon Cornelius, Beth Johnson, Madison Wilder, Derek Goins and John Wilder, his 'grand-doggers', Molly and Oscar and a host of other relatives and many, many friends. A Celebration of Norman's Life will be held on Friday at 12 Noon at Arnett & Steele Chapel with Rev. Paul Long; Rev. Jerry Lewis; Rev. David Rice and Rev. Emmitt Thompson. Music will be by Becky Long and Ron Wagers. Burial will be in the Brock-Burnett Cemetery at East Pineville. Pallbearers will be Craig Brock, Jason Cornett, Justin Daniels, Brian Good, Lonnie Wilder, Bobby Hoskins, Josh Mills, Allen Roper and P.J. Burnett. In Lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Community Harvest Tabernacle, Mission of Hope or the Markey Cancer Center. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, which is honored to serve the Cornelius Family.
