Nora Lee Mallicoat

Nora Lee Lawson Mallicoat, 89, of Morristown, Tennessee, formerly of Stoney Fork, Kentucky; passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in Morristown, Tennessee. She was born in Crab Orchard, Kentucky on September 2, 1935, a daughter of the late Jonathan and Delia Caldwell Saylor. Nora had worked as a Nursing Assistant and was also a homemaker for many years. Nora was most fond of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved working puzzles, reading, and sewing.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Albert Lawson, second husband Jack Mallicoat, grandson Travis Sinard, and ten siblings.


She is survived by her son Robert Lawson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughters; Ruth Sinard Lindell (Eddie Neal) of Charbabusco, Indiana, Rosetta Rose of Morristown, Tennessee, and Jacalyn Tamez of Morristown, Tennessee. Granddaughters: April (Danny) Jones of Stoney Fork, Nora Lawson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kristy (Clarence) Ott of Crossville, Tennessee, Starsha Profitt of Morristown, Tennessee, Kaitlyn Hallauer of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Juliet Tamez of Morristown, Tennessee, and Emma Tamez of Morristown, Tennessee. Grandsons: Robert Chanden Lawson of Rome City, Indiana, Santos Tamez of Morristown, Tennessee, and Mateo Tamez of Morristown, Tennessee. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, and sister Rosetta Lewis. In addition she is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herschel Belcher and Rev. Tommy Robert Baker presiding. Music will be provided by Tommy Belcher and Danny Jones. Burial will follow at the New Lawson Cemetery on Ewell Lawson Road, in Stoney Fork. Pallbearers will be Robert Chanden Lawson, Jay Ott, Eric Miller, Santos Tamez, Danny Jones, Steve Jones, Michael Helton, and Tommy Belcher.


The family will receive friends at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024

In lieu of flowers, the family requests everyone to donate to the church.
