Nelson D. Gray

Nelson D. Gray age 74 of Barbourville Kentucky passed to his eternal life on Monday November 25, 2024. Born June 11, 1950. He was the son of the late Nelson & Mabel (Elliott) Gray.


Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Ramona Gray, and five sons Derek (Jennifer) Gray, Anthony (DeAnna) Gray, Tim (Amanda) Lasley, Michael Lasley , Dustin (Amanda)Lasley and one daughter Shannon (Issac) Hammontree.

His brothers Harold Gene (Charon) Gray, Charles (Debbie) Gray, Gary (Lisa) Gray and two sisters Mary Ella (Doug) Shields, and Lisa (Eric)Latterwasser.

He also leaves behind nineteen grandchildren: Koda, Praylie, Kutter, Ethan, Hayden, Gracie, Jordan, Micah, Hunter, Ayden, Kyleigh, Allie, Luke, Evan, Gavin, Jaron, Rylin, Charles, and Hudson along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nelson was proceeded in death by his parents Nelson & Mabel (Elliot) Gray his brother Jerry Gray, two sisters, Patricia (Gray) Noe and Brenda Sue (Gray) Doolin.


Nelson graduated as class valedictorian from Knox Central High School in 1968 and then pursued his education at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy where he graduated in 1973.

Nelson was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather. Nelson built an amazing life where he served his community as a devoted pharmacist for 42 years before he retired. Nelson was an avid fisherman , who enjoyed spending time on the water out-fishing his brothers and son. Nelson was also a sports enthusiast and long time fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. Nelson will be greatly missed by all whom knew and loved him.
