Nellie Cox Brock

Nellie Cox Brock, 77, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at her home in Stoney Fork. She had served the Lord since she was 11 years old. She loved her Lord and he was her life. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nellie was a homemaker and she also worked some years ago for Bell County School Head Start program as a teacher's aid and cook. She loved to raise gardens and canned her good. In July and August, 2014, she canned about 200 or more jars of green beans and other foods just before she became very ill. She was an inspiration to everyone who met and talked with her. Nellie never met a stranger, she was always smiling and had a hug for her family and friends. She was blessed with a large family that gather around her bedside as she went home. In her immediate family she has 73 or more members as of the date of her passing. Her family was filled with hope and faith and is held together with love and grace. She was preceded in death by her precious loved ones, her parents, Jessie and Goldie Helton Cox; sister, Marie Cox Caldwell; brothers, Jessie (Jet) Cox, infant, Charles Cox, Dan Cox and John L. Cox; brother-in-law, Sol Saylor; sister-in-law, Stella Caldwell Cox; son, Kenneth Brock, beloved son-in-law, Johnny Murray; very special grandchildren, Robert Dewayne Saylor, John K. Brock, Tina J. Brock, Freddrick G. Brock and Joshua Murray; special daughter-in-law, Faithajean Perry Brock. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Z.B. Brock, Stoney Fork; sons, Burley (DaLene) Brock, Lexington; Sol (Sommer) Brock, Stoney Fork; Fred (Rosie) Brock, Lexington; Z.B. (Margie) Brock, Jr., Lexington; Elmber R. Brock, Stoney Fork and Randy (Norma) Brock, Stoney Fork; daughters, Delores (Jordan Lee) Saylor, Kettle Island; Willene Murray, Stoney Fork; Judy (Jerry) Lewis, Harlan; Chesney (Dwayne) Mills, Kettle Island; Belva (David) Scruggs, Chesnee, SC; Goldie (Darryl) Saylor, Harlan; very special daughter-in-law, Sharla Brock; thirty-three grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; sisters, Phronie Cox Saylor of TN and Bertha Cox Caldwell of Stoney Fork and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at Judy Brock's Holiness Church with Rev. Jordan Lee Saylor, Rev. Richard Asher, Rev. Joe Caldwell, Jr., Rev. Kenneth Saylor, Rev. Demus Couch, Rev. Ronnie Hoskins and Rev. Freddie Johnson. Music will be by the Church Family. Burial will be in the Brock's Family Cemetery at Stoney Fork. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Very Special Thanks to her friend, Mary Akers, the Hospice Nurses and Home Health Nurses for your care to our mom. A very special thanks to Angie Saylor for her support and help. Thanks you from the Brock family to everyone who prayed for us, brought us food and all who helped us in any way. The family received friends from 7 until 9 PM Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Thursday after 10:00 PM until the funeral hour Saturday, the family will receive friends at Judy Brock's Holiness Church at Stoney Fork.
