Nathan Bryant 'NB' Lundy, 82, formerly of Pineville, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the East Kentucky Veterans Center, Hazard. He was born in Corbin, KY on April 11,1930, the son of the late Nathan Brownell and Lillian Shively Lundy. Mr. Lundy served in the U.S. Navy on the submarine 'Sea Poacher' from 1948 until 1953, and was a Kentucky State Trooper from 1953 until 1955. He attended Pikeville and Cumberland Junior Colleges before graduating from the University of Kentucky with a degree in electrical engineering and was a registered Professional Engineer. He worked with Kentucky Utilities from 1958 until 1992 and retired as the Division Manager of the Mountain Division of KU and Old Dominion Power. Lundy was a member and elder of the First Christian Church of Pineville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dixie Vermillion, Helen Monhollen and Marjorie Fuson, and brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Ida Plum. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty Sue McCoy Lundy; daughters, Dr. Julie Lundy Goldman and Tracey Lundy Sharpe; grandchildren, Kelsey Goldman, James King and Caitlin Sharpe; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Elvira McCoy and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
