Mitchell Sturgill

Mitchell Sturgill, 69, of Red Bird, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Manchester Hospital. Born December 23, 1940, he was the son of the late Lester and Amanda Caudill Sturgill. He was a very religious man and believed in the Pentecostal faith and had been in the Coal Trucking business. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Sturgill; brother, Roger Sturgill; grandson, Chris Sturgill; granddaughter, Devona Sturgill; great-grandchildren, Michael, Robert and Jordan Sturgill; granddaughter in-law, Amanda Sturgill. Survivors include his wife, Beth Neace Sturgill; children, Linda Smith and Jeff Roark of Pineville, Danny Sturgill and Laponza Gross of London, Mitchell, Jr. and Colleen Sturgill of Beverly , Amanda Collett and Ernie Buell of Arjay, Rebecca Sturgill of Maine, Eddie Sturgill and Selena Barnett of Ohio, James Lester Sturgill and Sherry Helton of Beverly; Grandchildren, Nicki Bryant, Joshua and Stephanie Bryant, Felix Bryant, Jackie Sturgill, Tonya Collett, Brandon Collett, Joy and John Brock, Kevin Sturgill, Scott Sturgill, Mary Ann Sturgill, Kaitlyn Sturgill, Trenton Sturgill, Daniel and Darnetta Sturgill, Candace and Michael Middleton, Randall Sturgill, Amy Fee, Ashley Fee; great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Courtnay, Brittany and Courtney Bryant, Devin Lewis, Molly and Trea Smith, Talyah and Kadence McQueen, Skylare Middleton, Taten and Sidney Short, Jayden and Jace Brock, Wilson Sturgill and Kyia Sturgill; sisters and brothers, Ruby Jonson of Nebraska, Betty Fields of Viper, Kenny Sturgill of Viper, Octavia Sturgill of Hazard, James Sturgill, Jack Sturgill, Lester Brent Sturgill all of Viper, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
