Millard Blanton

Millard ?Dicky? Blanton, Jr., 78 of Pineville passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born at Manito Hill in Page on May 26, 1932, a son of the late Lucy Miracle and Millard Blanton, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Hugh Blanton and sister, Pauline Morris. He was a member of East Pineville Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Bell County Board of Education in 1995 after serving as an educator and Assistant Principal at Bell County High School. Millard was a greatly beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His memory will be honored and cherished by each and every individual that ever knew this wonderful man. And everyone that had that pleasure knows that words could never truly express or describe what a special and amazing individual he was. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Laura McGeorge Blanton; son, Wesley Blanton and daughter, Lisa Blanton Brown both of Pineville; granddaughters, Jaime Brown Hensley of Pineville and Shala Brown Ramsey of Tazewell; great-grandson, Jason Hensley of Pineville and great-granddaughters, Kara and Kayden Ramsey of Tazewell; son-in-law, Jim Brown of Pineville; grandsons-in-law, Chris Hensley of Pineville and Cody Ramsey of Tazewell; sisters, Wanda Faye Hoskins of Pineville, Clara Jo Condit of Florida and Doris Blanton of Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
