Melvin Roop

Melvin Roop, 79, of Harrogate, TN, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Arjay, KY on January 5, 1934, a son of the late Bill and Elsie Swanner Roop. He was of the Baptist Faith and was dedicated to the Lord. Melvin had owned and operator his own coal trucks. He had also owned and operated Billie and Sue's Florist in Pineville for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by his family. He loved his life and family and he greatly appreciated all the family and friends who visited him in the Nursing Home. In addition the his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Napier Roop and a brothers, Bud and Carroll Roop. Survivors include his daughters, Sue Johnson and husband, Jimmy; Melvina Roop, Tonya Muncy and husband, William and Debbie Akers and husband, Curt; grandchildren, Bridgett Denise Carnes, Samantha Nicole Johnson and Bryson Porter Muncy; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Don and Sue Roop, David and Carolyn Roop, Bill, Jr. and Kathy Roop, Judy and Richie Matheny and Vickie Sue Roop, special sister-in-law, Anna Jean Roop and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
