Melvin Lee Mink

Melvin Lee Mink, 59, of Middlesboro, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born in Cary, KY on August 18, 1957 a son of the late Edward and Cleo Teague Mink. He believed in the Baptist Faith and had been an underground coal miner for 36 years. Melvin, who never met a stranger, loved race cars and collecting guns and knives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond Mink and Lonnie Mink and sister, Edna Pope. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Tammy Sharp Mink; daughter, Jessica Mink; step-children, Jennifer Wachauf, Heather Baker and Joshua Smith; grandchildren, Samantha, Cayden, Keara, Kelcay, Chloe, Nolan, Bella and Christian; brothers, Harold Mink, Larry Mink, special brother, Curtis Mink and Ricky Mink; special sister, Lila Johnson, sister, Rita Williams, special nephew, Anthony Mink; special friends, Turtle Howard, Rich Daniels and the staff at d & D Tires and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the Faith Temple Church with Rev. Demus Couch. Music will be by Demus Couch and Rev. Richard Asher. Burial will be at 2:30 PM at Mink Family Cemetery in Rockcastle County. Pallbearers will be Derick Thomas, Darrin Thomas, Anthony Mink, Mark Brock, Jordan Partin and Devin Williams. The family will receive friends on Thursday after 6:00 PM at the Faith Temple Church. Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, is honored to serve the Mink Family.
