May Anglin of Pineville, KY, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at her family’s home. She was born in Clay County, KY (Sexton Creek) on Monday, December 1, 1941, to the late Pleaz and Lotty Smith Moore.
May placed her faith & eternal trust in Jesus Christ as a young adult. She was first introduced to Jesus through the Bus Ministry at Landmark Baptist in Cincinnati, OH. As she aged, her church membership transferred as her family grew & moved. Most of her years, May was a member of First Baptist Church of Walton, KY. There she quietly assisted the church as needed: Teaching, Nursery, Choir, Library, & GA’s to name a few. Her membership then transferred to First Baptist Church of Ludlow, KY, then to Rosedale Baptist Church in Covington, KY & lastly at First Baptist Church of Pineville, KY.
May’s work history highlighted her dependability & warmth. In her younger years, she served as a waitress at ‘The 5 & Dime’ in Downtown Cincinnati and ‘Stringtown Restaurant’ in Florence, KY. Ultimately, retiring as a Printer from Prestolite Electric in Florence, KY. Throughout her work history she continued to maintain life-long friendships with many of her coworkers.
May enjoyed crafting with her girlfriends, gardening & canning food, quilting, doing crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, cheering on the Reds, talking on the phone, traveling with her husband, enjoying her grandchildren & great grandchildren, catching up with family & friends & cooking.
In addition to her parents, May is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Anglin, Sr. and her 15 brothers & sisters, Bass, Eva Mae, Parkie, Rosie, Ruby, Conley, Claude, Minnie, Dora, Nevil, Evlene, Cora, Coy, Mattie & her twin who died at birth. May was also preceded in death by one great grandchild, Kaleb.
May is survived by her 3 loving children: Greg (Kim) Anglin of Dry Ridge, KY, Lesa Landrum of Walton, KY, & Paul (Lara) Anglin, Jr. of Pineville, KY. Her 9 grandchildren include: Jason Anglin (Jennifer), Derrick Anglin (Tisha), Amiee Anglin (Traver), Zack Anglin (Lauren), Austin Anglin (Kayla), Brandi Hagedorn (Nathan), Danielle Landrum (Eric), Aaron Brown & Isaac Brown. And her 16 great grandchildren include: Andrew, Kiera, Devlin, Jahniah, Sophia, Javion, Marley, Nylah, Vincent, Ian, Keagan, Marshall, Kayden, Kameron, & Kyler. May had many nieces, nephews, & cousins as well as other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 11:00-11:30 for family, from 11:30-1:00 PM for friends & guests at First Baptist Church of Walton, KY (47 S. Main Street, Walton, KY 41094). The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM officiated by Bro. Corky Alder. Immediately following the service, May will be laid to rest at Richwood Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
