Max Garnett, 78, of Pineville, KY passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at his home. He was a former employee of Davis H. Elliott and Sandy Fork Mining. He believed in the Baptist Faith. He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Garnett, mother, Jewell Williamson Garnett; daughter, Linda King; grand-daughter, Wendy Pauline Johnson; brothers, Russell Garnett, Vernon Garnett, Hobert Garnett and Herbert Garnett; sisters, Dobbie Jean Miller and Jenna Lynn Garnett. He is survived by his wife, Emma Garnett of 56 years, children, Karen (Michael) Carnes of Pineville, KY, Mark Owen Garnett of Ewing, VA, Jewell (Jim) Lingar of Ewing, VA and John Tom Garnett of Pineville, KY; his grandchildren, Ashley (Dewayne) Jackson of Frakes, KY, Angel Brooke Abner of Pineville, KY, Marcus Ray Johnson of Ewing, VA, Marquitta Garnett of Ewing, VA and Jeniffer Gail King of Tazewell, TN; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Phillis Garnett; a very special niece, June Allen of Arjay, KY and a very special sister-in-law, Frankie Dozier of Straight Creek, KY. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Thomas Heck. Pallbearers will be Chad Abner, Dewayne Jackson, Bryan Allen, Jeff Allen, Dale Hubbard and Justin Caruso. Special thanks to Hospice. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Garnett Family.
