Mary Irene Stewart

Mary Irene Stewart, 91, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born August 10, 1926 in Bell County to the late John Will Shepherd and the late Ida Mae Bryant Shepherd. She was saved and baptized at Moss Chapel Baptist Church and remained a member there the rest of her life. She was a homemaker and worked at Pineville Hospital for several years. She will always be remembered for her gardens and big Sunday dinners. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ebb Stewart; a son, Jerry Stewart; grandson, Gary Stewart, Jr.; granddaughter, Devonya Stewart; brothers, Earnest Shepherd, Willard Sheperd and Arthur Shepherd; sisters, Cleda Rice and Thelma Sizemore; brothers-in-law, Matt Sizemore and Gaines Branham; sisters-in-law, Edith Shepherd and Magdalene Shepherd and a daughter-in-law, Donna McGaffee Stewart. She is survived by her sons, Shelby Stewart and Gary Stewart (Donna);grandson, Shane Stewart (Sydney); granddaughters, Michele Younker (Danny) and Karen Miracle (Greg); great-grandsons, Conner Stewart and Nathan Miracle; great-granddaughters, Caroline Miracle, Shelby Miracle and Ashlyn Stewart; sister, Chesney Branham; brother, Paul Shepherd; brother-in-law, Virgil Rice; sister-in-law, Emma Jean Shepherd; daughter-in-law, Loretta Hoskins; two very special friends, Elsie Phillips and Wilma Stewart and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be at 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Yonker, Rev. W. Terrell Gibson and Rev. Paul Bryant Gibson. Music and songs will be in the Moss Chapel Singers. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at 12 Noon Thursday at Pinelawn Memorial Gardens, Pineville, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Stewart Family.
