Mary Lou Fortner

Mary Lou Fortner, age 56, of Speedwell, TN was born June 7, 1965 and passed away June 24, 2021 at Tri State Health and Rehab. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren, enjoyed the outdoors and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; James Massengill and Edna Fay Massengill Reed, husband; Larry Fortner, brothers; Frank Massengill, Dennis Massengill, and great uncle who raised her; Seeby Massengill.

She is survived by her daughter; Ashley Hatfield and husband David of Barbourville, KY, grandchildren; Alexander Thomas, Riley Thomas, Benjamin Hatfield and Sarah Hatfield, brothers; Clyde Massengill of Speedwell, TN, Gene Massengill and wife Jennifer of Speedwell, TN, Randal Felix of Delphi, IN, Carlos Luna of Delphi, IN, sisters; Dorothy Presutti and husband Louis of Taylor, MI, Robin Wilder and husband Alva Dean of Speedwell, TN, Trisha Gardner and husband Chris of Morristown, TN.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 6PM until 8PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted 11AM Sunday in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Joshua Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in the Loy Cemetery.
