Mary "Did" Griffin

Mary 'Did' Griffin , 78, Pineville, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Pineville on May 14, 1938 a daughter of the late Ben and Rosa Manis Mason. Mary was the oldest member of the Dorton Branch Church of God and had retired from the Housekeeping Department at Pineville Community Hospital, in addition to being a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death a son, Arthur Griffin; daughter-in-law, Mary Griffin; sisters, Myrtle Tigue, Ruby Lasley, Betty Sturgill, and Jean Smith; and brother, Arthur Lee Mason. Survivors include her husband, Charles B. Griffin; children, Charles Ed and Edith Griffin, James and Terri Griffin, Rick and Josie Griffin and, Ronnie and Paula Griffin; brothers, Ben and Pam Mason and Don and Della Mason; grandchildren, Charlie Griffin, Sandy Griffin Hoskins, Christopher Griffin, Heather Griffin, Michelle Griffin, Stephen Griffin, Justin Griffin and Dawson Griffin; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and all of her special friends. A special thanks to Dr. Martha Combs-Woolum and the Pineville Community Hospital Nursing Staff. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 until the 3:00 PM at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville. Graveside services will follow the visitation at Hickory Flats Cemetery in Dorton Branch with Bishop Custer Watts, officiating. Pallbearers will be Charlie Griffin, Stephen Griffin, Jacob Griffin, Chris Griffin, Buddy 'CUD' Tigue and Jimmy Rose.
