Marvin Lynn Moyers

Marvin Lynn Moyers, age 63 of Speedwell, TN was born April 19, 1960 and passed away suddenly Thursday, January 25, 2024. Marvin had many hobbies including reading his Bible, coon hunting, gardening, canning, watching sports, especially UT sports, but spending time with his family was the most important to him. He was a big jokester and was well known for giving many of his family members their own unique nickname of which would always make everyone laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Geraldine (Shipley) Moyers, brother; Eddy Moyers, sister; Dorothy Ford, niece; Amanda Gail Moyers.

He is survived by his children; Jennifer Moyers Jones, Marvin Lynn Moyers, Jr., Monica Prater and husband Shane, grandchildren; William Prater, Barrett Jones, Laska Prater and Ellie Moyers, brothers; Alan Moyers, Dennis Moyers, Michael Moyers, Mitchell Moyers and wife Lisa, sisters; Carolyn Graves, Betty Graves and husband Melvin, Bobbie Moyers.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 4PM until 6PM with funeral services to follow at 6PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Rev. Rick Braden officiating. The eulogy will be read by Tyler Pierce and music will be provided by The Powers Family.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, January 29, 2024 at 12 noon in the Moyers Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Dennis Moyers, II, Jeremy Moyers, Logan Fortner, Chris Cutcher, Shane Prater and William Prater.
