Martha Marie Jackson Washam

Martha Marie Jackson Washam, age 80, of Flat Lick, KY was born on June 15, 1938 in Knox County, KY, the daughter of the late Abe and Mary Smallwood Jackson. Mrs. Washam died on Friday August 10, 2018 at her residence in Flat Lick, KY. Mrs. Washam was of the Holiness Faith. On September 15, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jim R. Washam and to this union 7 children were born. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim R. Washam; brother, Abe Jackson, Jr.; sisters, Zella Mae Jackson and Louise Shadd; grandchildren, Bobby Washam, Jr., Amy Lawson, Kenneth Lawson and Kevin Lawson and great-grandchild, Michael Hobbs. Survivors include her children, Mary Philpot and husband, Sonny of Pineville, KY, James "Jamie" Washam and wife, Lisa of Artemus, KY, Bobby Washam and wife, Sarah of Flat Lick, KY, Janice Grubb and husband, Curt of Flat Lick, KY, Billy Washam of Flat Lick, KY, Alice Lawson and husband, Ken of Barbourville, KY and David Washam of Flat Lick, KY; 25 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; sisters, Stella Mae Davis of Oakhill, OH, Lucy Mae Mills and husband, Frank of Girdler, KY, Nada June Gray and husband, Chris of Flat Lick, KY and Beatrice Cox and husband, Kenneth of Knoxville, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wendell Goodin and Rev. Don Napier. Special music will be by the Church Choir. Burial will be in Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick, KY with Eric Washam, Jeff Washam, Randall Robert Rice, JC Grubb, Dereck Lawson and Bradley Coyler serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Washam Family.
