Martha Jane Minton, age 84, of Middlesboro, KY opened her eyes in heaven today to receive her reward, greatly deserved. There to meet her was Jesus; her loving mother and father, Will and Nina; husband, Lonnie Minton; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Vestina Minton; son-in-law, Pat Howerton, Sr.; granddaughter, Carolyn Jane Minton (her namesake); grandson-in-law, Wayland Hickman; brothers, Jr., Bryant and Robert Duncan; sisters, Cleo Hensley, Dottie Wilson, and O'Dessa Bussell.

Left to greatly mourn her passing is one daughter, Nellie 'Tootsie' Howerton, grandsons and wives, Eddie and Louann Minton, Pat and Teresia Howerton; granddaughters and husbands, Cindy and Jeff McGeorge, Kim and Wayland Hickman; (9) great grandchildren, Tonya, Tiffany, and Robbie Howerton, Steven and Dustin Hickman, Eddie and T.J. Minton, Pamela Stacey Wiley and Brandon Nikki McGeorge; (2) great grandchildren, Danien Wiley and Troy James McGeorge; a host of family members mourn her passing. She also leaves behind many friends and caregivers at Tri-State Nursing Home.

She had been employed at Curtivy Cafe` in Middlesboro and the Middlesboro School System as a cook at East End Intermediate School for many years. However, she held many occupations, whatever her family needed that's exactly what she was, a doctor, seamstress, cook but most of all a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Middlesboro Pentecostal Church for many years and a wonderful Christian-example; loving, kind, caring, and patient.

The family will receive friends at Reece Funeral Home Tues. from 6-9 and the funeral will be 2 p.m.Wed. at Middlesboro Pentecostal Church with Revs. Alonzo Miracle and Phillip Jackson officiating. Music by the Church Singers.

As the angels in heaven rejoice at her coming home, she will greatly be missed here on earth, our lives was greatly blessed with an angel from heaven the day God gave her to us.

Pallbearers: Pat Howerton, Jr., Eddie Minton, Jr., Dustin Hickman, Steven Hickman, T.J. Minton, Jeff McGeorge, Brandon McGeorge, Robbie Howerton. Honorary pallbearer: Eddie Minton, Sr. Interment will be in the Sharps Cemetery, Speedwell, TN, for the body from heaven for the soul.
