Marlin Robert "Drake" Holland

Marlin Robert 'Drake' Holland, 61 of Arjay, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born on December 13, 1952 in Clay County and was a son of the late Lewis and Dora Napier Holland. Drake had worked as a Coal Miner for many years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Lynn Holland, James Holland, Marcella Steele and Charlotte Smith. Survivors include his sons, Marlin Holland, Jr. and wife, Joann of Arjay and Shannon Holland and wife, Marsha, all of Arjay; grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Brittany and Joshua Holland; brother, Phillip Holland of Arjay; sisters, Phyllis Knuckles of Lagrange and Ester Hatfield of Pineville; former wife; Debra Holland Bright, very special friend, Linda Lefevers; special friends, The Parton family and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be 2 PM Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wagner. Entombment will follow at the Green Hills Mausoleum in Middlesboro with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dr. Hays. The family will receive friends on after 4 PM Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Holland family.
