Marie Mayes

Marie Mayes, age 63, of Speedwell, Tennessee, passed away at her

home October 14, 2006. Born July 23, 1943 to the late Vatus and

Bertha Turner Berry, who survives and is 102 years old. She was

of the Baptist faith and attended Pine Grove Baptist Church. She

was employed at Powell Valley Elementary & Powell Valley High

School for 20 years. In addition to her father, she is preceded in

death by her grandson, David Spencer Mayes and brother Billy

George Berry.

Husband, Donald Mayes, of Speedwell, TN;

Mother, Bertha Turner Berry, of Lafollette, TN;

Sons, Michael Lynn Mayes & special friend, Debbie of Lafollette,

Donald Wayne Mayes of Speedwell,

David Mitchell Mayes & Michelle of Speedwell;

Brother, Clarence Berry of Lafollette;

Sisters, Shirley Polari of Lafollette,

Blanch Welch,

Jessie Wray,

Joyce Leach all of Speedwell;

Grandchildren: Briana Kay Mayes and Elijah Mayes

Funeral Services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at Reece

Funeral Home & Valley Chapel with Rev. Arnold Guy

and Rev. Jimmy Branscomb officiating.

Music by The Arnold Guy Family.

Burial 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Greasy Hollow Cemetery.
