Bledsoe

Mackey Mills, Sr., 64, of Bledsoe, KY, passed from this life into the next on August 29, 2026. He was born on October 29, 1961, to the late Ewell and Lizzie Mills of Stoney Fork, KY, where he was raised and lived for many years. He was a diesel mechanic by trade and an outdoorsman by leisure. A believer in the Christian faith, he was a member of Teetersville Church of God in Teetersville, KY. He loved and appreciated his church family deeply.

Mackey took pleasure in the simple things in life and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and explore the mountains, as well as flea markets and vendors’ malls. An excellent cook, he loved sharing meals with others. An avid gardener, he took great care in the construction and maintenance of his gardens. He will be remembered for his laugh and for his sense of humor. He loved to play and joke and share laughter with others, who he would entertain with stories and made-up songs. He is already remembered as a sweet man with a good heart, and he will be loved and missed by many.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Rhonda Carol Smith Mills; and brother, Mickey Mills.

Mackey is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Holtkamp Mills; children, Kristie and Jake English, Mackey Alvie Mills, and Stephanie Gibson; grandchildren, Heaven English, Hunter English, Dameon Mills, and Lillian Mills; mother of Dameon and Lillian, Racheal Lynn Allen; siblings, Ruby and Paul Hensley, Eveline and David Herron, and Harvey and Tammy Mills; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A private family viewing will be held at Arnett and Steele Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 1st. A public graveside service will be held at Napier Cemetery in Bledsoe, KY on Wednesday, September 2nd at 11:00 am. Reverend Nathan Boggs will be officiating, and family will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes to extend the comfort inherent in the Christian faith. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26). Because Jesus is Mackey's Savior, those who have put their faith for salvation in Jesus Christ will see him again.
