Macarthur Smith

MacArthur Smith, aka “Johnny Cash”, 76 of Arjay, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pineville. He was born on March 28, 1945 in Pineville, Kentucky, the son of the late Helen Mink Smith Webb and Roscoe Smith. He had been a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Generia Smith; brothers, Lester Smith, JC Smith, James Smith, and Stanley Smith; and sister, Ethel May. Left to mourn his passing are his sister, Carolyn Collett; brother, Gene Smith and wife, Harlene; and loving niece, Missy Johnson. He also leaves behind special friends (family) Keith and Carolyn Gambrel, workers and all Gambrel’s Food Mart Customers. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Gambrel’s Food Mart in Arjay with Rev. Tim Mills presiding.
