Lucy Simpson

Lucy Simpson, 72 of Loyall, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at her home. She was born in Erose on July 18, 1954, a daughter of the late Lige and Sarah Saylor North. Lucy had been a server at the Pine Mountain State Park Lodge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Billy Collett; sisters, Eliza North, Carolyn Saylor, Offie Haley, Linda Saylor, Dora Jones, Callie Brock, and Geneva Mink; and brothers, Lewis North, Carl North, Jay North, Esco North, Alfred North, Archie North, William Harvey North, and Leon North.

Lucy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Jimmy Lawson; grandchildren, Madison Hensley and husband, Trey, Kollen Cowell, and Billy Collett, Jr.; sisters, Berth Lester, Wanda Tuttle, and Mildred Brooks; brothers, Wilburn North, Clinton T.J. North, and Emil North, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Private services are being cared for by Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Simpson Family.
