Lucy Lawson Gambrel

Lucy Gambrel, 94, of Arjay, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Beverly, Kentucky on February 14, 1915 the daughter of the late Lewis and Martha Meredith Lawson. She was a member of the Green Camp Pentecostal Church and had been a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sawyer Gambrel, son, Oakley Gambrel, three infant children, Arnold, Elsie and Sandra, sisters, Mallie Taylor, Dora Lawson, Virgie Hubbard, Fannie Smith, Ella Jones, Liza Baker and Bessie Jackson and brothers, Rant Lawson and George Lawson. Survivors include her sons Ernest Gambrel and wife, Shirley, Jerry Wayne Gambrel, daughters, Shirley G. Foust and June G. Larson and husband, Kert, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, sister, Hester Vaughn and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
