Lonnie Reed Wilson, Sr., of Pineville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 26, 2025. He was 81 years old. Lonnie was born on April 21, 1944, and was the son of the late Charlie and Azzlee Wilson. A lifelong resident of Bell County, he was known for his strong work ethic, spending much of his life as a skilled heavy equipment operator. He was a man of deep faith and held to the beliefs of the Pentecostal tradition.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Faye Wilson; his son, Richard E. Wilson and wife, Elizabeth; his brother, Danny Wilson; and his sister, Barbara Carroll.
He is survived by his devoted children, daughter, Rita Collins and her husband, Wayne, and his son, Lonnie Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Renee. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Teddy and Kimberly Collins, Christy and Jason Smith, Shaun and Stacey Collins, Latosha and Quinn Hobbs, Matthew and Ashley Wilson, Richard and Shaunta Wilson, and Heather and Keith Elliott.
Lonnie was blessed with many great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy, Cameron Collins, Hayle and Nate Smith, Blake and Adell Collins, Landen Collins, Chloe Collins, Gunner Collins, Gabriel Collins, Caleb and Kerea Hobbs, Natalie Hobbs, Hunter Wilson, Asher Wilson, Caden Wilson, Jace Wilson, Payton Elliott, Kylee Elliott, and Everett Anderson.
He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Freddie and Faye Wilson; special brother-in-law and wife, Kenneth and Stephanie Mason; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Lonnie will be remembered for his quiet strength, his steady presence, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Wilson Cemetery in East Jellico with Rev. Phillip Jackson and Rev. Jeff Kersey presiding. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the Wilson Cemetery.
