Lonnie Whitehead

Lonnie Whitehead, 67 years and 11 months old, of Straight Creek, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 21, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born in Stoney Fork on December 21, 1948, a son of the late George, Sr. and Dora Caldwell Whitehead. Lonnie believed in the Holiness faith and was a member of Saylor's Pentecostal Church at Crockett. He worked for many years at Paul Elliott's Lumber Yard and Brock's Sawmill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death first wife and mother of his children, Connie Sue Short Whitehead, son, Wright Whitehead, brothers and sisters, George Jr., Willard, Billy, Hobart, Jewel, Cindy, Bonnie and Fearn. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Gearldene Brock Nolan Whitehead; daughter, Cindy Fuson and husband, Bobby, sons; Chris Whitehead and wife, Anita and Alex Whitehead and wife, Angie; grandchildren, Morgan Fuson, Logan Whitehead and Madison Whitehead; brother, Walter Whitehead and wife, Loretta; step-sons, Ben Nolan and wife, Mary and Bill Nolan and wife, Debbie; eight step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Homer Brock and wife Carolyn and David Brock and wife, Lola; sister-in-law, Rita Hoskins and husband, Ronnie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 25, at Saylor's Pentecostal Church at Crockett with Rev. John Whitehead, Rev. John Neal and Rev. Tommy Elliott. Burial will follow at the Whitehead-Fuson Cemetery at Straight Creek with his nephews, family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Homer Brock, David Brock and Ronnie Hoskins. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Madhan Mohan, Jim Garrett, Michelle Russell, Crystal Jones and Hospice of the Blue Grass. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and then after 9 PM Wednesday and all day Thursday at Saylor's Pentecostal Church at Crockett until funeral hour on Friday.
