Lona Clayetta Graves

Mrs. Lona Clayetta Graves, age 93, of Speedwell, TN was born April 30, 1930 and passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the Claiborne Medical Center in Tazewell. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Lona loved sewing, crafting, cooking and gardening. She was a very tough lady as she was an avid farmer and when her house was being built, she was right there working as hard as the others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Casper and Emma (Hopper) Leach, husband; Leo Graves, son; Michael Graves, sisters; Wanda Barnes, Charlette Russell, Reba Lorene Medley, son-in-law; Stephen Dunn

She is survived by her children; Melvin Graves and wife Betty, Judy Dunn, Pamela Graves, Melissa Gail Long and husband Gary, Leon Graves and wife Rhonda, grandchildren; Angela Ausmus, Mark Graves, Jason Dunn and wife Melinda, Jennifer Smiddy and husband Chris, Jessica Howard and husband Charlie, Michaelia Cucci and husband Anthony, Kathy Wolfe and husband Aaron, Elizabeth Dunn, Mika Long and wife Michelle, Dustin Long and wife Kelly, Bobby Long, Shaunta Wilson and husband Richard, Heather Graves, Lexi Cannon and husband Colby, 23 great grandchildren, brothers; Johnny Leach and wife Shirley, Eugene Pete Leach, special caretakers; Sherry Moyers and Kathy Ausmus. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Amedisys Home Healthcare for all of their loving care.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 5PM until 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel.

Graveisde services will be conducted Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 12PM in the Ausmus Cemetery.
