Tazewell

Linda Sweet Mullins, 67 of Tazewell, was born on January 6, 1958, and entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Brookdale Assisted Living in Kingsport, Tennessee.  Linda obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Lincoln Memorial University and went on to work for the Claiborne County School System.

She lived her life with faith.  She was a member of the First Christian church of Middlesboro, where she found joy in worship, fellowship, and seeing the “girls”.  Her greatest joys were her late husband, Doug, granddaughter, Leslee, and new great-granddaughter, Grace.  She will be remembered by her contagious smile and ability to always make you laugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Mullins; parents, Loretta Hamblin Sweet and Robert Sweet; and brothers, Patrick Sweet and Robert Dexter Sweet.

Linda is survived by her granddaughter, Leslee Grant Seeger; great-granddaughter, Grace Seeger; children, Bambi Howard, Doug Mullins, Jr., Tracey and Donnie McLain, and Stacey Mullins and Randy Davis; sister-in-law, Joanna Sweet; and grandsons, Ian McLain and Hayden Bailey.  She is also survived by her sister, Angel Clara Jones; multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Jane and Brenda; neighbor, Barbara; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

A special Thank You to the nurses and caregivers at the Brookdale Colonial Heights and Smoky Mountain Hospice for providing great care to Linda the last year.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Astor Simpson officiating.  Burial will follow at the Irish Cemetery in Tazewell.  Pallbearers will be Grant Seeger, Hayden Bailey, Alex Sweet, Zach Mullins, Randy Davis, and Murphy Buell.
