Leona Elizabeth Poore, ("Betty" and "Grandmother") of Harrogate, TN, left her family to be with her Lord on July 28th, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
She was born October 21, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of William Cunningham and Leona Greene. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Carl Poore and is survived by her children, Patty Jean Jones and William Ray Poore, Sr., her grandchildren, LuAnn Thomas, Walton L. Jones, Roger C. Poore, Sonya George, William Poore (Butchie), April Widener along with 10 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and special friends, Ruby Doan & Brenda Bertram. She was a member of Millers Chapel Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky. She was a hardworking, avid quilter and amateur author of a personal history some of which will be published by Hometown Memories publishers of regional living history books. She was very active in her community and a mentor to many.

Funeral services for will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Reece Valley Chapel with Rev. William Boyd Bingham and Rev. Phillip King officiating. Music provided by David & Juanita Honeycutt and Bill Durham. Burial in Greenhills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers, Walton L. Jones, Greg Thomas, William Poore, Roger Poore, Justin Jones, Will Thomas, Gus Thomas, Rocky Poore, Jackson Jones.
