Leona Lawson

Leona Napier Lawson, 90, of Pineville, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born in Simms Fork, KY on January 7, 1921 a daughter of the late John and Julie Saylor Napier. She had belonged to the Bird Branch Baptist Church and had been a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ceph Lawson, an infant daughter, Geraldine Lawson and son, Tex Lawson; sisters, Goldie Collins and Margie Gibson; brothers, Lloyd, Elmer, Johnny, Charles and Colson Napier. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Shirley and Nora Lawson and Paul and Magdalene Shepherd, both of Pineville, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Christine Brock; brothers, Reed, Paul, Silas and Robert Napier and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
