Leda Robbins

Leda Robbins, 90, of Calvin, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Calvin on February 4, 1927 a daughter of the late George G. and Mossie Hurst Robbins. She attended Riverview Baptist Church and had worked for Kentucky Utilities for many years in Harlan and Pineville. She was a 'grandmother' figure in the lives of many children and she enjoyed sharing her love of nature, flowers and the mountains with everyone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford, Caleb, Ray, Hurst, James and Edgar; sisters, Hassie Brasher, Hattie Thompson, Gracie Arnett, Bertha Miracle and Gladys Williams. Survivors include her faithful companion, Bonnie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Sanders and Elder Kenneth Robbins. Music will be by friends and family. Burial will be in the Lum Green Cemetery at Calvin. Pallbearers will be her nephews. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon Saturday until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Robbins Family.
