Laura Felton Merritt Hayes

Laura Felton Hayes, 90 formerly of Pineville, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in Illinois. She was born in Pineville, on March 13, 1926 a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Hurd Felton. She was a member of West Pineville Baptist Church and had been a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Pineville Community Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifton Merritt and Thomas Hayes; daughter, Janis Merritt and brother and sisters, Charles Edward Felton Helen Miracle and Ethel Hammonds. Survivors include her children, Patti Rego and husband, Poley and James Merritt and wife, Kris; grandchildren, Jennifer, Clifton, Ben and Jake; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Christopher, Amber and Alexandra and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 12 Noon, Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Honsel Biliter. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Gardens, Pineville. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the family of Laura Hayes.
