Larry Douglas Longworth

Larry Douglas Longworth, 72, of Hazard, formerly of Middlesboro, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was born in Middlesboro on September 27, 1953, a son of the late Wiley and Sophia Hensley Longworth, Jr. Larry was a believer in the Baptist Faith and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He served in the coal industry for over 40 years.

Larry is survived by his wife, Karen Owens Longworth; children, Tiffany Longworth, Katina Colinger, Candace (Nick) Hall, and April Dawn (Justin) Martin; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Bob) Weaver; brothers, Donnie (Janie) Longworth and Danny (Belinda) Longworth; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Rev. Clyde Daniels and Rev. Kim Collinsworth presiding. Music will be provided by Mitchel Cosby, Mike Cosby, and Tim Bentley. Burial will follow at the Cosby-Poplar Grove Cemetery in Harrogate. Pallbearers will be Donnie Longworth, Danny Longworth, Jason Brown, Pat “Barney” Freeze, Glenn Dwelle, and Danny Combs. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Baker, Ken Baker, III, and Jordan Combs.

Masonic services will be held at 8:00 PM on Friday at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate, which is honored to serve the Longworth Family.
