Larry G Jones

Larry Jones, 67, of Speedwell, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital.  He was born in Monroe, MI on September 4, 1949 a son of the late Roy and Trula Graves Jones.  He had served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and was Honorably discharged.  He had been a truck driver. He was a member of the Powell Valley #488 F & AM Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Jones, Jr. and a brother, Gary Jones.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Kevin Barnett, Michelle and Tommy Ellison; grandchildren, Matt Helton, Jacey Jones, Larry Jones, III, Makayla Helton, Brittany Ellison and Jacob Ellison; special friend, Betty Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.

Following Larry’s request, he will be cremated.  Memorial services will be at 7:00 PM Friday at the Reece Funeral Home Valley Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Branscomb and Rev. Eddie Hoskins.  Music will be by the Glory Road Boys.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Pine Grove Cemetery.  Honorary pallbearers will be, Earl Lambert, Paul Lawson, Dr. CA Moore and the members of the Speedwell Voluntary Fire Department.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:30 until 7:00 PM at the Reece Funeral Home, Harrogate.
